Payment Methods

Campaign form payment methods

By default, the Payment Methods that are set up on your organization’s GiveForms account—Stripe and/or PayPal—are enabled. Uncheck any options you don’t want to include. Control which option is selected when the form loads using the Set as Default radio buttons.

About Stripe Payment Methods

Connecting your Stripe account can allow for payments via credit cards, ACH bank transfer, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. Each of these options is available to users situationally, depending on a few conditions:

  • ACH bank transfers are available if your organization’s Stripe account is connected to a US bank account. It is available only for payments made in USD.
  • Google Pay is available for donors using Google Chrome. It does not work in other browsers.
  • Apple Pay is only available when linking directly to your form, rather than embedding the popup form on your website. For example, a direct link would look something like: https://app.giveforms.com/forms/your-organization/form-name.
  • Credit card payments should work at all times.

If you have added your Stripe account to your Organization’s Payment Settings, and don’t see any of these options, review your Payment Method settings in Stripe.

Currencies & Minimum Donation Amount

Campaign form currencies

All Currencies are enabled with USD initially set as the default. Accepted currencies can be adjusted by checking or unchecking the checkbox beside each. The default option can also be changed by using the Set as Default radio buttons on the right.

The user can change the currency on the first page of the form on the right side of the Amount Field.

If the Custom Amount Field (under General > Preset Amounts) is enabled, adding a Minimum Donation Amount can prevent donors from entering amounts so small they aren’t worth the overhead or fees

Ask Donors to Cover Fees

Campaign form cover fees option

The Ask Donors to Cover Fees feature is enabled by default. This gives donors the chance to cover Stripe and GiveForm fees, allowing their full donation amount to go to your organization.

Check the Enable by default box if you want this to automatically be checked for donors on your form.

When finished with your payment settings, click the Save Changes button.
