Campaign Email Template

Configure the common settings that are applied to all of a campaign's messages.

The template lets you configure settings used across all of the campaign’s messaging. This includes email messages as well as the receipt PDF.

All email messages are sent from the GiveForms email server from the address, “receipts@giveforms.com”. This cannot be changed.

Why can’t I customize my sender email address?
To ensure that your email messages are not marked as spam it’s important that the email address and the email server sending out the messages have the same domain (giveforms.com). If these were different it could be considered “email spoofing,” which is often used in scams and phishing attacks.

To configure the email template settings,

Navigate to Campaigns > Emails & Receipt > Template in the left navigation.

The email address, logo, and colors from your Organization settings will be used in your campaign by default, but these can all be customized.

Reply-To Email Address

Enter a Reply-to Email Address so when donors click Reply on a message it will be sent to someone at your organization who can respond.

Email Logo

The Email Logo will appear at the top of all communications sent to the donor. If you added a unique logo to your campaign’s form, you might want to use the same one here to help your donors quickly make the connection to your campaign.

Donate Button

The Donate Button is included in all messages by default. If desired, you can disable this by unchecking the checkbox “Include a Donate Button”—but this is not recommended. If you change the Donate Button Text, make sure it is clear that  this starts a new donation.

The New Donation Button URL will be pre-populated with your campaign form URL. However, if you want to direct them to another page, such as a donation page on your website, enter it here.

If you customized the colors for this campaign, you may want to update the Donate Button Color to match.

Previewing Messages

At any point during your email set up you can send a test email to yourself. It’s a good idea to preview what a message will look like in your email application—it may look different in various email applications or on mobile devices. You may also notice things you missed while editing.

Before previewing, make sure to Save Changes to ensure you receive an up-to-date test email.

Click the Email a Preview button at the bottom-right of any Email settings page.

In your email application, have a look to see how the subject reads; imagine it in an inbox surrounded by a bunch of unrelated messages. Would recipients understand what it is and who it’s from without opening it?
